Playa Chica is a pretty and compact cove like beach. There is a small pier with a restaurant and some of the most amazing snorkeling many people will ever see.
At the Southern end of Puerto del Carmen found via some back streets. Parking is pretty good but can get a little busy. Short walk from the south end of Puerto del Carmen
Playa Chica is a little hidden jewel. It is centrally located between the old town harbour and Playa Grande but accessed via some back roads.
The main attraction is the marine life. Bring a snorkel, mask and some bread. Throw some bread into the sea and watch what happens, at the smallest amount of bread the local silver and shiny fish spring into action. Put on a snorkel and mask and swim out beside the rocky outcrops on the left or right of the beach. Marvel and the amazing variety of different species of fish. It is not a coincidence that most of the dive schools of Lanzarote use this beach the majority of the time.
The beach itself is nice golden sand and sheltered from the wind. At the southern end of the beach is a small stone pier where the dive school and excursion boats more up. You can also have a lot of fun jumping and diving from the pier.
This is a safe beach to enjoy a very relaxing day. There are not any nearby shops but there is an ice cream sales cart and nice restaurant. Recommended to bring some water and snacks.
Amazing small cove like beach, sheltered and warm year round. Truly amazing snorkeling and marine life.
Lovely safe cove on the surface
Put on some goggles and under the surface is the most amazing amount of fish I have ever seen.
The quayside restaurant was great as well
