The small Arrecife Telamon beach is where the Lanzarote landmark shipwreck of ‘The Telamon’ was run a ground back in 1981. The industrial setting of the beach makes it unique. There is easy access to the water and parking on the beach.
The Telamon beach is located just North of the main Lanzarote cargo port of Los Marmoles.
Follow the coastal road just North as you exit the port and see the beach and Telamon on the right. You can drive you car and park just behind the beach.
The beach is very unique, interesting and little known. Set with the Lanzarote desalination and electric generating plant to one side and the Arrecife cargo port to the other there is a definite industrial feel.
The beach itself is around 30 meters wide. There is golden sand and good access to the sea. This is a sheltered and safe beach with clear water. One hundred meters off shore is the huge Telamon ship wreck that gives this beach its character.
During the week there is normally no one else using the beach so you can have it all to yourself.
Snorkelling and swimming are good. Take great care if you decide to go near the ship wreck as the remains are rusted and unstable.
Just North of the beach along the road at the first roundabout is the ‘La Estrella Restaurant’. This serves local food for people working nearby. Prices and quality of food at the restaurant is good.
Interesting beach to escape the crowds and check out something different. Easy access and parking with clear water and the amazing ship wreck right in front of you.
This is a surprising little beach just next to the main port
