This lesser known and used beach is a real gem. Perfect white sand leading down into a crystal clear turquoise sea. Very few other people. Great for also for walking and fishing from the nearby rocks.
You will need a hire car to get here. Follow the LZ1 of the Lanzarote East Coast. Its about 5 kilometers before Orzola and 3 kilometers from Caleton Blanco. There is good parking about 100 meters past the beach on the left. Once parked walk across the road and along the track town to the beach. Not suitable for wheel chair access as there is a few hundred meter walk across soft sand from the parking area.
This little bay is perfect for a day at the beach. Once you arrive if there is wind you can escape this by laying in one of the small stone built shelters along the beach. If the wind is fine then there are lots of places along the beach.
There are rocks and banks of uneven stone as you enter the sea. Easiest access to the sea is the far left of the beach. Go slowly with small steps and you will be fine. Once over the fist band of rocks there is another sand and rock bank about ten meters further out. This can give protections to larger waves that sometimes break further out. If there are waves stay away from the right hand edge of the beach as a rip can form at this side.
Swimming and snorkeling in the inner section of the beach is great. There is clear water and lots of fish.
On days with larger waves take care. Currents can be strong and the waves powerful. Unless you are a strong and capable swimmer do not enter the water on the days with large breaking waves further out.
There are no shops near the beach and the sun is strong. Arrive prepared. Bring water and sun cream, stay hydrated and protected from the sun. For a long fun day also bring some food, goggles, snorkel and even if you like some fishing gear.
To the right of the beach is a rocky coastal path. Along the path are lots of places to fish in the next bay are headland.
Small coastal paths have formed purely by people walking that way a lot. To the right as you look out to sea is a nice path. The path is rocky and uneven so use good walking shoes. Along the path heading East you soon come to another bay with lots of interesting drift wood. This is a little used and very unspoiled place to enjoy and appreciate the sea and nature.
To the right of the beach and rip current often forms. When waves are big the currents are stronger. Do not swim in the right side of the beach. If you find yourself in this part of the beach swim across and out the rip then back to shore.
We love beaches and this is our favourite.
