Los Ancones is another of Lanzarote’s great little secret villages. It is a small village located just North of Costa Teguise.
There are just houses with no shops in this small coastal town.
The shore is rocky but there are a few nice places to sunbath and enter the sea.
Follow Avenida de Las Palmeras in Costa Teguise as far North as it goes. At the roundabout take a right. At the next turn go left onto a dirt track. Follow the dirt track until you enter Los Ancones. Turn right and follow the road to get to the coastal area.
Los Ancones has some houses built about 150 meters inland from the waters edge. Walk in the direction of the sea and you will find a little boat launch and some rocky coves with flat slabs of rock. Explore the coast line to find some great places to spend a few hours or the whole day. You can sunbath, relax, fish, snorkel and swim here.
This is a very quiet and secluded town with one way in and out along the 2 kilometres of dirt track. Access via car is fine.
The water here is crystal clear and the rocky bottom is home to many species of marine life. This makes a great place to snorkel and watch the wild life in its natural marine habitat.
Entry to the water can be tricky and rocks slippery. Not suitable for young or elderly. Do not enter the sea if it is rough.
The main walking route is to head North along the coast out of Los Ancones. There are also many inland paths to follow from here. The walk North along the coast has you passing lots of interesting coastal features. After about seven kilometres you will arrive in Los Cocoteros.
If you like to get away from crowds and are able bodied enough to explore, walk over slippery rocks and swim in the sea Los Ancones is perfect for you.
Forget the crowds, relax and enjoy the total peace of this area
Los Ancones is found at the end of a three kilometer track.
Sunbathing and water entry is found via the rocks. Really nice relaxed little town.
