Playa Bastian a wide rocky beach with lots of areas to sun bath. There are sun beds to hire. Entry to water is via a narrow section of the beach. There are public toilets. Parking is close.

Location of Playa Bastian

Playa Bastian is located 500 meters south of Jablillo beach. Getting to this beach walking is along the coastal promenade. There is a good sized car park next to the beach. Arriving at Playa del Jablillo via car is found by driving along the Avenida del Mar heading south. Take a small left along the one way road of Calle de las Tabaibas, turn left at the t-junction at the end then curve around right into the car park. Playa Bastian beach is just in front of the car park across the Costa Teguise promenade.

Playa Bastian Beach

Playa Bastian Beach

Playa Bastian is a wide beach with lots of different sunbathing areas built with two tiers. The first and higher terrace of the sandy beach has some large stone walled shelters and more open sandy areas. The lower level is the dark sandy beach with access to the sea.

To the Northern end of Playa Bastian is ramped access and public toilets with fresh water showers. The best entry to the sea is found at this end of the beach in a 30 meter wide gap in the rocks. At lower tides there can be slippy rocks under foot so take some care. In winter there can also be waves here on certain days.

There are paid for sun beds and parasols positioned at the Northern end of Playa Bastian beach. Costs for sun beds are 12 euros for two sun beds and a parasol for the day. Just lay on your sun bed and the sun bed man will come and take your payment.

Playa Bastian spreads on in a Southerly direction from the ramped access point with nice rocks at the waters edge. At lower tides access to the sea can appear in these areas after walking over some flattish rocks.

The beach offers good shelter from the wind and can be comfortable and warm when other beaches feel too exposed.

Swimming and snorkelling at Playa Bastian are good. A few swimming clubs start here and swim up along the coast to Playa Jablillo and back. The water is clear and the rocky sections offer good shelter to fish and good snorkelling.

For Children there is a great play park with swing and slides 40 meters along the coastal promenade
